Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) are a source of dietary fiber. They form a mixture of 1-kestose, nystose and 1F- Fructifuransyl nystose, which are consisted of 1 to 3 fructose through ß(2-1)glucosidic bond. The sweetness of FOS is half of that of sucrose. FOS is a new healthy functional sweetener, which can regulate intestinal microflora, increase the amount of bifidobacteria, promote the absorption of calcium, regulate blood lipids, modulate immunity, protect against dental and so on. FOS in our company are produced by biological enzyme engineering techniques, and have the exact health-care effects and obvious mechanism of action. FOS contitute an ideal additive in foods and functional foods.
